Yarelyn Mena is an associate attorney with the law firm Brown Rudnick LLP (“Brown Rudnick”) with a principal office located in New York, New York City. Her practice is dedicated to intellectual property and commercial law, representing individual and corporate clients in a variety of matters, including copyright infringement, patent infringement, defamation, and commercial contract disputes.

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Yarelyn was a summer associate at the Firm. She was a legal intern at Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., Fluent, Inc. and S&P Global Market Intelligence, and a legal research assistant at Wordsworth Law Publications, Inc. While in law school, Yarelyn was a legal intern at Fordham Law’s Samuel-Glushko Intellectual Property and Information Law Clinic where she advised authors on copyright matters. As a law student, she was selected as one of 25 students around the country to participate in the Hispanic National Bar Association/Microsoft Intellectual Property Law Institute.

Yarelyn also contributes to the Firm community as part of the Women’s Initiative Steering Committee; an active member of the Diverse Attorneys Working Network; and as an associate advisor to incoming associates. Additionally, in September 2020, Yarelyn was chosen to participate in the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Latina Leadership Academy with women in the legal profession from across the nation.

Yarelyn was awarded her B.A. degree from Hunter College in Psychology in 2015 and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2019.

Yarelyn Mena is a lawyer for actor Johnny Depp in the $50 million libel trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Actor Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife actor Amber Heard for defamation in Fairfax County Circuit Court after she authored an op-ed article in The Washington Post in 2018 referring to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
